The Coldpruf brand is a subsidiary of Indera Mills, which was incorporated in 1914 in Winston Salem, North Carolina by Francis Henry Fries. Back then the main focus was on the manufacturing of knit underwear for women. Today, they still do this, but their products are now worn by men, women, children and even dogs. With the evolution of swimwear products in the 1920s, they decided to advance the swimwear line by producing “sporty, woolen swimwear.” After a while of making swimwear, lingerie, slips and other women’s lines, they decided to turn back to thermal underwear and base layers, or winter weather products. Indera Mills started to only make thermal underwear and eventually launched the ColdPruf brand to stand over the growing need and demand for long underwear and base layers. The company has kept the business in the family and today you can find the 4th generation of descendants leading the success of the company. ColdPruf continually proves its worth in extreme temperatures and why they can save you from the cold by its vision: “We’re here to keep you warm.” And the technology that they use in their products proves the warmth of their long underwear. The ColdPruf Authentic Wool Plus Men’s Thermal Underwear Top has a two-layer design which allows air to become trapped between layers creating a natural barrier of warmth. This 2 layer engineering is designed to handle the coldest of temperatures. The ThermaChoice system helps you to make an educated choice on a sometimes complicated decision—which base layer is the best choice for your needs? Lastly, they also offer garments that are made to fit women perfectly. An athletic fit, made for feminine waistlines with extended lengths and even tag less labeling, all protect the most adventurous women from the coldest places in the world. Though their products stand the test of time (over one hundred years at this point), they are also committed to manufacturing their products in North Carolina, leaving only the sewing and packing of the products to their team in Mexico. Their vision also includes partnering with companies around the country for their fiber, yarn, textile, and dyeing needs. They are proud to be an American company and let it be known on each package that has a sticker attached that reads “Designed and Knit in the USA”. Another important part of their brand is their dedication to the environment through their Green Program. Though ColdPruf ensures that they love snow better than anyone, green is another favorite color of theirs. Because of that, they endeavor to help the environment. They do everything that they can in their warehouse to make the functioning of their business as environmentally friendly as possible, like changing the temperature of their offices after hours, reducing natural gas consumption, and energy-efficient light fixtures in all of the warehouses. If that wasn’t enough, in 2013 they joined an organization called 1% for the Planet, giving 1% of their annual revenue to environmental causes. The ColdPruf Base Layer extension of Indera Mills is fully committed to their niche product line that is designed to keep each customer warm in any cold weather environment. From cold to extreme cold or low activity to high activity, ColdPruf has the selection of base layer thermals for you to choose from that will keep you insulated and comfortable all day long.
