  • Staying Warm While You Work

It’s that time of year again where heading outside in just a T-shirt and jeans won’t cover it.  When the temperatures drop and the climate changes, you need to be ready whatever may come. For the man who can’t sit inside all day and wait for warmer weather, having the proper winter apparel is essential to carry on with your day. Here are some of the more practical pieces that keep you warm while you work outside this winter:

Woolrich Men's Arctic Parka - Dark Wood

Apparel  from Woolrich will help you block the gusts with this Arctic Parka.  A detachable coyote fur hood is even roomy enough to allow for extra coverage giving you ample room for a knit cap beneath and the fact that the entire coat is down insulated assures warmth.  It’s both water-resistant and wind-resistant and the length sits slightly below the hips keeping your back covered while you scoop away snow and cast it aside.

    Carhartt A204 Fleece Neck Gaiter

When you’re outside working, it’s hard to keep every little inch of you hidden from the elements. While scarves can come loose and unwind themselves, Carhartt keeps you covered with this Fleece Neck Gaiter.  With 8% spandex, this easily stretches to slip over your head and has plenty of material to keep your chin and mouth buried beneath it as well.  A great addition to your winter wardrobe, possibly even a necessity to those of us that have to get outside regardless of the weather.

Red Wing # 1229 Insulated Winter Boots

When you’re working in the wind and snow the one thing that you must keep warm is your feet.  Making sure you have proper coverage to keep you feet and socks from getting wet is essential for surviving hours outside in frigid temperatures. Red Wing has the boot necessary to accomplish this task. The Red Wing 1229 Insulated Winter Boot has a plethora of qualities to assure your body heat doesn’t escape and your feet stay dry.  Most important, these boots are waterproof constructed with Full Grain Red Maple Fortitude Leather and a GORE-TEX waterproof lining. The 1229’s are insulated with 1000 Gram Thinsulate Ultra quilted to brown diamonette Cambrelle lining.  They are complete with a slip-resistant, Vibram® Olympia sole.

We all know that winter creates extra outdoor work for all of us.  Regardless of your career, we have to spend time outdoors, shoveling, snow-blowing, scraping, etc.  As your prepping for winter weather, it’s nice to know Dave’s New York has everything you need to stay warm, literally, from head to toe.
