What will retail look like when it reopens?
This virus has wreaked havoc on our daily lives, and affected every facet of our habits and routines. As some places are starting to reopen the question we are getting asked is, “What will retail look like when stores are able to reopen?”
We wish we had all the answers, not just for you, but for all of us and our staff as well. What we do know is that the foundation of the good businesses that will come out of this will be thinking: do what’s best for the people. At Dave’s we think that we will be assessing our opening in 3 different facets:
- We need to make sure that our store is safe for employees to come in - so we will do all the things that are being repeated 100 times over: Masks, Gloves, Sanitizing, Cleaning, Distancing and a lot of communication
- We need to make sure that customers can once again shop at, around, or near our store. We will be adding In-Store Pick Up to our website, we will add curbside pick up and payment, and we will make things as contactless as possible to ensure safety between our team and our customers.
- We will be looking at all of our policies to ensure that they are best for our customers. We don’t know exactly what they will be, but we will make sure they provide safety, security, and protection.
Most of all we will look to the leaders of the city for a baseline. We know that a general policy is a good foundation, but we need to make it specific to our business. That means that Dave’s won’t be “as usual” for a while, but the things that we believe in will always be at the core of what we do, day-in and day-out.
We look forward to getting back to work, and we look forward to updating everyone as soon as we have more information to share.
