BRAND SPOTLIGHT: Alpha Industries

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Alpha Industries, an American clothing manufacturer founded in 1959 in Knoxville, Tennessee. It’s great to be able to carry the products from a brand with such a rich history rooted in military outerwear. The company started out manufacturing flight jackets, parkas, and field coats for the US Armed Forces, being awarded contracts by the US Department of Defense.  

Just over a decade later, Alpha entered the commercial market selling these jackets to retailers and consumers in order to keep production running in between government contracts. The popularity of American military style jackets began to grow and some Alpha styles even crossed over into the fashion world. Now, Alpha Industries sells its military-style apparel to consumers in stores all around the US and across Europe and Asia.

The MA-1 flight jacket is the most popular Alpha item here at Dave’s. This one of a kind jacket is frequently imitated—the best form of flattery—but never equaled.
