Pitti Uomo Recap - June 2024

Pitti Uomo is the unofficial start of the men's fashion calendar and the energy at the event was amazing. Over 700 brands came together in Florence, Italy to showcase their latest and greatest for Spring/Summer 2025, and we were so proud to be there too with our latest collection of the Roy Roger's x Dave's New York collab. It's a privilege to represent Dave's at this event and an incredible moment to see a new collection with our name on it. 

Here are some of the highlights from last week: 

- There are some carryover of styles from the first two collab collections, but in new washes and colors. The denim jacket and utility pants are lighter in color and weight for a great Spring look. The canvas will come in an ecru color in both a jacket and pants, creating a great head-to-toe look. 

- There were plenty of new items too! From sun-faded tees to washed cotton caps, bucket hats to canvas vests; the collection has really expanded to several looks and styles. But the consistency of colors and styles allow you to mix items or match them, and pull off a coordinated look.

- The really cool thing to see was the mix of new technology and old techniques to create special pieces that spoke to many people. There was laser-etched canvas with a floral pattern and a printed pinstripe suit with graphics. The highlight was a digital scan of an old pair of canvas carpenters that was printed on a new utility pants. The printing looks 3D, and so realistic that you have to hold the pants to believe it. The "old" techniques we are referring to are hand-painting on canvas and hand embroidery on the canvas shorts, which give each piece a style and look to their own. 

- It was amazing to share this experience with the team at Roy Roger's. We believe (as do they) in the importance of keeping to the core of what you do (like utility pants) and asking ourselves what we can do that can lead us into the new season.
