PRODUCT REVIEW: Carhartt Force T-shirts

Short Story: Carhartt builds their products based on function and durability. The Carhartt Force cotton tees are a great combination of many features. The material feels lighter and dries faster, so you won’t stay soaked with sweat on the job. They also feature a fit that is closer to the body so that there is not a lot of excess fabric. Carhartt still puts triple-stitching on the seams to ensure that the t-shirt has the durability you've come to expect from any Carhartt product. Regardless of the work you do, we would definitely recommend the Carhartt Force cotton t-shirts (short or long sleeve) as your go-to work tee.

Carhartt Force short sleeve work t-shirts at Dave's New York

Long Story: For decades the Carhartt K87 cotton pocket tee has been the benchmark of workwear t-shirts. More recently, Carhartt has developed new products that combine fit and fabric for an updated style that works just as hard as you do. The Force cotton t-shirts (available in short or long sleeve) are made of a cotton/poly blend for a soft cotton feel with the moisture wicking properties of polyester. They also feature raglan sleeves, as opposed to the traditional top-shoulder seam, so that the shirt drapes over your shoulders in a more fitted and more comfortable way. The raglan sleeves also prevent some bunching on the shoulders as you are working.

They are cut in Carhartt’s Relaxed Fit, which is similar to a standard "regular fit" than than their Original fit. In this t-shirt, you would take your usual size in a Gildan, Hanes, or Dave’s t-shirt.

If you are already a big Carhartt fan and have their Original Fit tees, please use this chart as a way to measure which size you may be in their Relaxed Fit tees:

You will also find that due to the blended material, this shirt really does not shrink in the wash. The fabric is also more resistant to pilling and wearing thin. The shirt has a “give” to it that feels a little stretchy, but it does not contain any spandex.

All of this makes the shirt feel comfortable, durable as any Carhartt work tee, and great for those who sweat while they work. The next time you go to pick up a tee, think of the Carhartt Force Cotton series of shirts, and you may just find your new favorite tee.
