Introducing the Salomon X Ultra 5
New to our footwear lineup is the Salomon X Ultra 5 GTX. A classic from Salomon that combines function and a bit of fashion. The X Ultra 5 is an everyday shoe that performs on the trail and on the concrete.
First and foremost is the function of the shoe. The X Ultra 5 is Gore-Tex waterproof, so you never have to worry about getting soaked. The shoe also features a mid-lug height that can grip uneven ground, but also has enough traction for concrete. You can also find the Salomon pull tab lacing system that combines a strong hold with flexibility for walking. It is a great compromise between a snug fit and a enough give to make the shoes comfortable to walk in all day. There is also a little "garage" on the tongue to put in the cord after you have tightened your shoe.
Other standard features are a heel cup and stability plate through the heel and foot to keep you from rolling your ankle. But the function also leads to some cool design elements like the asymmetrical design on the shoe. The outside of the foot features a rugged support tab that helps keep the foot from pronating, but also gives the shoes a different look from the outside than the instep.
